This article is about teenage depression and how teenagers of today are coping with their depression. The new fad is self-mutilation in the form of cutting or slashing on the skin of the upper thighs or the upper arms. Some people have a tendency to want to stay away from other people, with rare cases taking this tendency to the extreme by avoiding nearly all social contact. This, combined with some other factors, could be taken as a sign that the person has avoidant personality disorder. This condition can be treated with therapy, but the problem lies in accurately determining whether one has the disorder.

The Owen Wilson story is now the latest buzz in tinseltown. The National Enquirer stirred up mixed reactions when it first reported last August 26, 2007 that Hollywood funnyman Owen Wilson was hospitalized due to drug overdose. That story about the drug overdose was later retracted by the same source and was changed into “a case of attempted suicide.”

As opposed to looking at the causes of depression as if depression were a completely understood condition, let's rather look at it in manageable little packets. Educating yourself and making sure that you fully understand the risk factors related to depression will go a long way in making decisions with the treatment of the depression.
