I know what you’re thinking. With a Yacht as your playground there’s only one thing to do - lie in the sun and look gorgeous (or handsome, if that happens to suit you better). But as if the lying-in-the-sun looking gorgeous option wasn’t enough, there are a few more ways for you to keep yourself entertained on your yachting holiday.
South Africa has a longstanding tradition of subsistence fishing. The fishing communities clustered along the coastlines are steeped in the arts of catching, cooking and curing. Cape Town has a particularly rich subsistence fishing history.
To the ‘First World’, Africa - the ‘Dark Continent’ - has traditionally been regarded with a mixture of fear, intrigue, romanticism and disdain. Due to the fact that western society learned about Africa through the blinkered and biased views of colonization, it is unsurprising that to this day many people, even those living within the more developed parts of Africa itself, are highly ignorant of the African continent, its people, its geography and its heritage.
