The Edmonton Oilers is a a professional ice hockey team located in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. They enjoy playing in the National Hockey League (NHL). The Oilers efficiently supervised the 2006-07 NHL season as the defending Western Conference Champions.  Alberta Oilers was the founding Member who united the World Hockey Association in 1972 and Bill Hunter was the real Owner of the Team. Hunter was also the Owner of Edmonton Oil Kings.

The Buffalo Sabres are a professional ice hockey team located in Buffalo, New York. They play in the National Hockey League (NHL). The Buffalo Sabres, along with the Vancouver Canucks, joined the NHL in the 1970-71 seasons. The Sabres' first owners were Seymour and Northrop Knox, scions of a family long prominent in Western New York.

Soon after the end of the 2004-05 NHL lockout, "marvelous talent" Marian Hossa, whose 45 goals for the Senators in 2002-03 were a team record at the time was traded with defenseman Greg de Vries to the Atlanta Thrashers for earlier first round draft pick Dany Heatley, he requested a trade out of Atlanta to quaver his personal demons associated with Atlanta after his involvement in a car crash that proved fatal for a teammate Dan Snyder, who was on the wheel driving with Heatley at the time.
