Business Card Marketing

| | Share

Business cards have been around for a long time and will still be around for a long time to come. It is so easy to hand someone a card and they in turn can put it in their pocket or purse for referral later on. It you handed someone a large flyer they would glance at it and find the nearest waste disposal bin to dispose of it. They would not want to stuff it into their pocket.

The card is small but it carries all the necessary information about your business. The business name and logo and the physical address and contact numbers are the most important details and this is all printed on the card. You could print on the back of the cards so that they will be doubly effective. This side of the card could advertise your special offers and discounts. You could have a buy two get one free type of promotion. This is likely to draw a lot of customers.

Print numbers on the cards and have a lucky draw for a prize. This will ensure that no one will dispose of the card, but will keep it to participate in the lucky draw. You could change these offers often and keep the interest going. These cards are your best salesmen and as such, should be handed out often so that they can do their work.

Try networking with cards when you next attend an industrial or commercial show or workshop. Hand out your cards to the exhibitors and in return receive their cards. You can build up your own little directory of businesses and companies that could possibly do business with you or you with them.
You should never leave home without a supply of cards with you. You never know when you will meet someone you want to give a card to. See every one you speak to about your business as a potential customer. Do not let them leave without a card in the hand. Change the design of your cards every now and again so that they do not stagnate. Experiment with color and paper and keep them fresh. Make the passersby curious about what you are handing out. This ensures that they will actually read the card and not just throw it away.
