Gift basket making can be a fun and rewarding. A baby gift basket can be very personal and a standout at baby showers. Follow these suggestions and your baby gift basket will be the talk of the baby shower guaranteed.
1. Decide on a theme based the baby’s gender. Pink and blue are the traditional colors for girls and boys. If you want something a little different, pick a cartoon and/or movie theme for your baby gift basket. Winnie the Pooh, Sesame Street and Disney themed movies have stood the test of times as a childhood favorite. Most themes can be used for both genders. This works great for cases where the gender of the baby is not known.
2. Getting the right basket is very important. The size and the color depend on the items that you would like to put into the basket. A large basket would be great for a baby gift basket so that you can add a cuddly stuffed teddy bear or other stuffed animal. A white gift basket can go along with any theme.
a. You can find gift baskets at any craft store or in the craft section of stores such as Wal-Mart and K-Mart. If you can’t find a color to your liking, you can always spray paint a basket to the color you want. Spray painting is quick and easy.
b. For the nifty shopper, thrift stores are full of great baskets of all sizes and colors. And remember if you find a basket in the wrong color you can always spray paint it.
3. Deciding on the items to go into your baby gift basket. This is the fun and easy part. You can go into any store and find bottles, onesies, sleepers, teething rings, booties, outfits, rattles, toys and I could go on and on. Buying for babies is easy and there are so many items to choose from. Here are my suggestions for a baby gift basket that will make a great baby gift basket for a boy or girl. A newborn can never have too many sleepers, onesies, booties, and bottles, a baby book for photos or memories, a stuffed animal, a baby picture frame, an outfit or two and even pampers. A newborn can never have too many pampers.
