Unfortunately without house training you are in for trouble

Having trouble with house training your dog to stop those anoying habits? the best way to handle this problem is to know your dog's anatomy.

Knowing your dog's physical abilities and habits at home will yield important information to the come back the problem and helps reduce the likelihood of it happening.

Here's how you can address the problem of house training:

1) For problems concerning urinary discretions, note whether your dog is wetting more often producing normal or at the same times of the day.

Note also whether it is smaller or larger quantities of urine; is it dribbling while walking or is it leaking while doing something else like relaxing or sleeping or when excited or scared.

2) If it is faecal problems, get a sample and take it to the veterinarian. If your dog is defecating in front of you and if it appears to be straining or pooping while he's walking upright is something also worth noting. You should pay attention the stool.

Is it Are they loose, runny, firm, hard, blood or mucous? Is it of less volumes or more often during a day or more than normal? Is your dog doing it more often?

3) Noting and reporting any changes you've seen in your dog, like it has increased drinking or vomiting, does it have a reduced or increased appetite, weight, skin or coat changes, lethargy, panting, anxiety, fear, lameness or reluctance to play or exercise?

All of these are symtoms of worry and should be addressed as early as possible.

4) If you have noticed any of the above mentioned, try to remember if there were any changes or new situations in your home,which preceded or coincided with your dog's bodily accidents.

5) For example, a new addition to your household or maybe a change in your dog's diet, supplements or medications? Also was there a frightening moment in its' life?

Then if you have noticed any of these you should be sure and report anything out of ordinary you have noticed in your dog's routine to your veterinarian.

Mistake: Do Not Withhold Water as part of house training

A s the saying goes, what goes in must come out and some dog owners will tend not to give their dogs as little water and food as possible in an attempt to curb these problems.

Some people find it tempting to just reduce the amount of water that their dogs drinks or not give them any water at all at night.

This could be a very dangerous and no doubt will lead to all types of problems later.

Restricting your dog's intake as a form of training will have real medical issues,like kidney problems or urinary tract infections.

Resulting in incidences where the dog actually have to drink more water.

For that reason trying to withhold water from your dogs who might have with low-grade kidney problems, which you might not know about, could lead to more life-threatening kidney failure.

So when considering to deprive a healthy or ill dog of water, please consider that this could also lead to relatively new and even worse pre-existing problems than annoying bodily functions.

With that being said, some dogs just love to drink water especially on hot days and so it will be wetting far more often.

In these cases if you restrict water is not the way to make the dog happy, function as a member of the family as it could appear cruel.

Unfortunately, many dogs do not outgrow this without house training

If you have any suspicions that your dog is drinking a lot of water only because it seems to make it happier to do so.

You should definitely discuss your suspicions with the vet and consider getting a veterinary exam to eliminate any conditions that could cause this increased thirst in your dogs, like wrong dietary habits for example..
